At last, the time has come!
We are delighted to announce that The Crown is about to reopen as our community-owned pub and what a remarkable journey it has been.
Since completing the purchase from Fuller's on 8th June, the pub has been transformed by an extraordinary team of volunteers from across the village. Between them they have built, plumbed, laid flooring, painted, decorated, restored, cleaned, gardened and tackled countless other jobs. The volunteers have continued to come forward in ever-increasing numbers, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to The Crown and to its place at the heart of our community.
Our Soft Opening
To ensure that our new pub team is fully trained on our ordering systems, technology and operating procedures, we will begin with a soft opening. This will allow us to test our systems while welcoming everyone back to enjoy the pub.
Our plans are as follows:
Wednesday 1st July & Thursday 2nd July from 5.00pm - 11pm We will welcome our investors and volunteers for the first drinks in the newly reopened Crown. This will be an opportunity to experience the fresh, welcoming atmosphere that has been created and to celebrate everything that has been achieved together.
Friday & Saturday 12noon - 11pm The pub will be open to everyone for drinks only while we continue staff training. Food will not yet be available.
Sunday12noon - 8pm The pub will be open to everyone for drinks only while we continue staff training. Food will not yet be available.
On Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th July we will be closed.
Food Service
Wednesday 8th July from 12noon - 2:30pm & 5pm - 11pm
From Wednesday onwards, we will be introducing food service with a limited opening menu.
Initially, we will be offering a limited menu while our kitchen team settles into full operation. During this period, a proportion of our tables will be reserved for investors and volunteers, who will be able to book on a first-come, first-served basis.
To reserve a table, please either call into The Crown in person or email Abi at bookings@crowncuddington.co.uk.
From Friday 10th onwards (inc. Saturday 11th Fete Day) table booking will be open to everyone.
As we reach this important milestone, we would like to thank every one of you for your investment, encouragement and unwavering support throughout this project. The reopening of The Crown has only been possible because of the commitment, generosity and hard work of so many people. Together, we have secured the future of a much-loved village asset.
We hope you will join us over the coming days to raise a glass, celebrate what has been achieved, and enjoy the beginning of this exciting new chapter for our community-owned pub.
